A bilingual corporate site and CMS that turned a contractor’s project record into a living bilingual portfolio for partners.

Maleeha for Development & Services Ltd. is a Sudanese contracting company that works with government bodies and international partners across water, health, construction, and related sectors. They needed a public site that reads as Arabic-first for local audiences and English for partners, plus a way for staff to keep the portfolio current. From February through September 2026 I built the full stack: locale-routed marketing pages and a Neon-backed CMS for projects and news, now live at maleeha.net.

The Problem

Every new project write-up, gallery set, or news update meant waiting on a developer and doing it twice for Arabic and English. That left the public record lagging behind field work, while partners still expected clear owner, location, and scope detail for tenders and coordination. An English-skewed brochure site would also underserve the Arabic-speaking majority who use the company as their first point of contact.

The Solution

I shipped a Next.js site with Arabic default / English switch and an authenticated admin. Editors manage projects (bilingual copy, sector, years, owner, location, cover and gallery images, scope groups, featured flag) and news posts via a TipTap editor with images and YouTube. Draft vs published keeps unfinished work private; drag-and-drop reorder controls listing priority. Published content feeds home highlights, sector pages, and project detail pages without another code deploy.

The Process

The constraint that shaped everything was Arabic as the operating language, not a translation layer. Arabic is the default locale and RTL layout; the admin UI is Arabic-only for the people who publish. Content is stored as paired `{ ar, en }` fields and edited in locale tabs, so bilingual pages stay aligned without bolting English-first i18n onto an Arabic company’s workflow.

The Results

  • Live bilingual site at maleeha.net with Arabic as the default experience and English throughout.

  • Staff publish, feature, and reorder project case studies and news without engineering help.

  • Project pages carry structured detail owner, location, years, scope, galleries across eight sectors.

  • Draft/publish status keeps incomplete updates off the public site until editors release them.

Client Feedback

“Working with Fakir on our site was straightforward the Arabic-first CMS means we publish projects and news ourselves, and partners finally see a portfolio that stays up to date in both languages.”
MAMohamed Alnadeef, General Manager
